There are no current treatments for Achondroplasia because a person develops it during the early development of the fetus
Research is being done to try and find treatments for Achondroplasia
Children born with the disease have their height, weight, and head circumference monitored to avoid any further complications
MRI's and CT scans are used to evaluate muscles and the spine; if problems are found, surgery is done to help with breathing or decrease pressure on the brain
Related abnormalities like spinal stenosis and spinal cord compression are treated when they cause problems
These may be treated with exercise, activity modification, epidural injections, or anti-inflammatory medication, but there is no cure for them either
People with Achondroplasia need careful monitoring
